Setting up message rules for spam

Start up Outlook Express.
Highlight the line that says LOCAL FOLDERS
Then click at the top: FILE, NEW: FOLDER
When it asks for FOLDER NAME type in: SPAM and click OK.
You will now have a folder in Outlook Express called spam
We will now send all your detected spam to that folder.

Click TOOLS, then MESSAGE RULES, then MAIL
Click NEW
In the top box where it says SELECT THE CONDITIONS FOR YOUR RULE,
Check the option that says: "WHERE THE MESSAGE BODY CONTAINS SPECIFIC WORDS"
Then go to the second box where it says: SELECT THE ACTION FOR YOUR RULE:
and check the option that says MOVE IT TO THE SPECIFIED FOLDER.
In the third box it will now say this:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the message body contains specific words
Move it to the specified folder

The words CONTAINS SPECIFIED WORDS are underlined and highlighted in blue.
Click it and a box will pop up for you to enter the specified words. (cut and paste the following words). Enter this exactly, with no quotes or anything else where it says TYPE SPECIFIC WORDS OR PHRASE AND CLICK ADD:
Spam detection software, running on the system

Click ADD
Click OK
Now click on the word specified that is underlined and highlighted in blue.
Your folders will pop up. Click on the + sign in front of LOCAL FOLDERS.
Highlight the directory that says SPAM and then click OK.
Click OK again.

You now have a message rule that will dump all your detected spam into a folder called SPAM.
Please note that the SPAM ASSASSIN will do much to help eliminate spam, but nothing we can run on the server can totally eradicate it. Please also note that you should periodically go into that SPAM folder, review the messages there and delete them.
If you note that you are NOT getting certain emails that are being found in that file (and marked as spam) you can add a WHITE RULE within your Web site CPANEL to allow this email through.
